Developer Relations Advocate
Developer Relations Advocate
All Hands AI is hiring a Developer Relations Engineer to help shape the future of software development. We're the company behind OpenHands (formerly OpenDevin), an open source LLM-powered software agent. OpenHands can write code, run commands, browse the web, and even solve GitHub issues end-to-end. We have a flourishing open source community, and we're looking for someone who can help bridge the gap between our technical capabilities and user needs.
You'll be joining as one of our early hires, working directly with our founding team and engineering organization. We're building a culture that emphasizes kindness, candor, autonomy, and learning--and we'd love for you to be a part of it!
What You'll Do
- Collect, categorize, and synthesize day-to-day user feedback from GitHub, Slack, Discord, forums, and live sessions.
- Track, triage, and drive resolution of high-priority open-source issues, ensuring clear ownership and status visibility.
- Distill recurring feedback into high-level themes and product improvement proposals for the engineering roadmap.
- Produce developer-facing content—blog posts, example repos, tutorials, docs refreshes, webinars, and conference talks—that accelerates adoption.
- Help maintain docs, build starter templates, and API samples showcasing best practices with OpenHands.
- Act as a hands-on liaison: pair-program or debug 1-on-1 with design-partners and community power-users when blockers arise.
- Champion community health by moderating discussion channels, welcoming newcomers, and nurturing an inclusive, helpful culture.
- Collaborate with product and engineering to define, measure, and report DevRel KPIs such as activation time, PR velocity, and docs satisfaction.
- Orchestrate release communications—changelogs, upgrade guides, deprecation notices—to keep contributors in sync.
- Identify and engage strategic ecosystem partners for integrations, joint demos, and cross-promotion opportunities.
What We're Looking For
You don't need to meet all these criteria, but here's a rough idea of what we're after:
- 3-5+ years of DevRel, engineering, or product experience
- Technical background with hands-on experience using tools in the AI, Cloud, software development, DevOps, or open source space
- Experience working with product, engineering, marketing/growth, open source communities, and helping find “signal” from noise
- Track record of successfully working with users, helping get them activated with the product, and working with product/engineering to share feedback
- Experience with open source communities and developer ecosystems
- Travel at least once a month to AI/Developer community events, or hosting OpenHands meetups
Key Skills
- Deep understanding of what makes open source community successful, nuances among different software development personas, and creating developer content
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Knowledge of developer tools or AI agents
Compensation and Benefits
Salary: $125-175k/year based on experience
Equity: 0.1%
Benefits:
- Health, vision, and dental insurance, fully paid by All Hands AI
- Unmetered time off (PTO)
- 401k plan
